You are going to do three assignments (=oppgaver):

Assignment # 1:
Make an email address at Skolenettet. Go to their website http://skolepost.nls.no/, fill out the information, and send it as soon as possible! It takes an hour before it works. At least one person in each group needs an email address.

Assignment # 2
We talked about welding techniques last time. Find information on the welding of the space shuttle. Find out:

• how is the frame of the shuttle made (materials, welding techniques)
• what is the outer surface of the shuttle made of

• www.nasa.gov - the official home page of NASA
• NASA Space Link Search - lets you search in NASA website (for example, you can search for the word "welding")
• NASA Human Spaceflight - good site with information on the shuttle and the space station
• if none of these work, try a Norwegian site, e.g. cnn.no or kvasir.

Assignment # 3
Today's big event is the American elections.

• Take the test (in Norwegian!) at the start.no website: Hvem ville du ha stemt på? Find out which candidate you agree with the most, Bush or Gore.
• Explain why in today's presidential election the loser may win!Take a look at this explanation in Norwegian in Dagbladet.
